Swung by The Comic Store last night and picked up a copy of the new X-Men title, Astonishing X-Men, written by Joss Whedon. Great stuff! The art is top notch and Joss brings his usual wit to the story. A couple panels had me laughing out loud, which is rare when I read a comic book (er, how comic can it be then? Hmmmm…).

So, if you’re a fan of Firefly/Angel/Buffy/other_Joss_stuff and like comics, X-titles in particular, go out right now and get a copy. I think he’s locked in to write the title for a year. Cyclops, Wolverine, The Beast, Shadowcat and Emma Frost make up the core X-team in this book. It’s been a while since I’ve read any Marvelverse comics so I’ll need to scour the net and get up to speed on the story line.
